Conference Aims and Objectives

This conference aims, for the first time, to gather together the global knowledge and expertise in remanufacturing practice and research, from industry and academia, thus providing a unique opportunity to obtain exciting and innovative experiences to forward developments in technology and research in sustainable manufacture and waste management. The international dimension is emphasized in order to overcome cultural and national barriers, and to meet the needs of global sustainability given the significant adverse ecological impacts of accelerating global industrialization. The key objectives are:

  1. To identify and document the state of the art and the key issues in remanufacturing research and practice
  2. To establish an effective channel of communication between academic and research institutions, industry and persons concerned with the challenges and significance of remanufacturing
  3. To enable practical, industry-relevant solutions by facilitating multidisciplinary discussions between academia and industry
  4. To facilitate discussions and networks that would assist the establishment of the intellectual foundation and direction for the longer-term development of remanufacturing research
